I love this idea of planning your collection around what will fit in a specific space. How did you get the idea to use that as the method to reduce your collection?

I think after watching you, I have too much makeup. I did a declutter but wow. I have a big wooden box made for makeup storage, three cases (one for elf, one for backups, one for drugstore makeup) two clear lipstick holders, two pink drawer containers and two pretty mugs one for eyeliners and one for lipliners and my merit makeup is in the corduroy bag you used to get with your first order. I congratulate you on pursuing a curated makeup collection. Take care.

I’m interested in seeing your progress going forward. Love the idea of using that beautiful Etoile box and seeing what is worth earning a spot in it !

I have similar concept like you 2 rectangular etuiles where I fit my new products or those who aren’t in season. And a pink plastic bin same size as your burgundy etui where I rotate my everyday makeup. When comes to project pan start small, make a small list with products whose formula will be easy to pan or are half used and you want to focus next year. I did an 26 products to pan at the beginning of 2026 and I reached my goal and actually finished more. Hard to pan products will have to wait or work much longer on them like bullet lipsticks, powder blushes/bronzers/ highlighters especially the Hourglass ones, liquid blushes from Rare Beauty are also very hard to pan( I panned one full size in almost 3 years). Many YouTube channels who focus on pans have those products for a long time in their projects is not that simple.
People who pan fast are those who have a very minimalist style, they always have 1 product out 1 in, kind of system.

I have my byop eyeshadow rotation every 2 weeks I choose 15-20 singles to rotate and I have some pans but also nice progress in my collection ( I own 170 single eyeshadows from indie brands like Clionadh, Terra Moons etc.)

Nice video ❤

I loved the chatty video. And the way you made your decisions.
This bag is beautiful, but it would too small for me. And I like to rummage. 😁
Looking forward to the next one!

Wish I could show you a photo of my bags I bought the powder blue one . I just bought the dark blue and I’m going to use that as my skincare and everyday body products . I also have a work makeup bag which has the products I like maybe wouldn’t re purchase. I only use this for work and keep the things I love and would replace in my etiole box. And use that when it’s the weekend and not at work. So eventually I’ll only have what I love in the case . If that makes sense x

I'm working on something like this too, except for eyeshadow I have a foldable palette. I prefer singles just like you do, but I tend to use colorful/graphic eyeshadow, so having just a couple of palettes premade would not make me happy. I have two sterilite three-tier pencil containers that fit everything except my single eyeshadows and palettes, and I've whittled down to only have nine premade palettes from what used to be 20. Declutters and panning, and some I depotted my favorite shades and magnetized the back to use as a single. My goal is to have no premade palettes and for everything to fit into just one sterilite container.

Fun video. I enjoyed watching your decision making. I have the one without the extra top area but they definitely hold alot, They do get heavy though.
