  I had a GF when I was 26, she was a doctor (an amazing one at that) and her parents made a shitshow on this. Eventually she broke up and married an ass of a man. That man ruined her potential completely, cut her off from her friends etc etc. I’m 35 now, still single and I’m way more successful than those guys could imagine in 2016. But yes if her parents didn’t be assholes , we would have been a power couple today.

  My daughter always refused marriage only to tell me later she wanted to marry a boy from another cast.<br>I immediately approached the parents of the boy who were reluctant but I convinced them of the futility of delaying and wasting the children&apos;s youth.<br>Both children ( esp the boy) were not earning much but I insisted on early marriage, gave my daughter the initial &quot; Stree dhan&quot; to settle &nbsp;her new rented home in Banglore.<br>A wise decision on my part. Today (10 yrs later) they are both earning well ( boy double that of my daughter) have their own child and with a bit of my help ( more stree dhan 😊😊) have purchased their own house and car.<br>Thank God for that.

  You&apos;re the only one who&apos;s addressing this issue... Nobody knows how much the sanskari kids are suffering, spending all their youth without romance and waiting for their parents to find someone which they eventually do at the dawn of old age with all that baggage and faded looks. What&apos;s left is 2 cranky old people all sucked out of life and vigour trying to somehow live out their long cherished desires of youth.

  My father immediately pushed all the burden of taking care of everyone, buy a plot, build a house. And yet was expecting me to marry from his choice. But now I&apos;m marrying my choice, he&apos;s expecting me to take care of all financial needs of him n family. No, he didn&apos;t invest a single penny on my education. I did my higher studies by myself. More frustrating is I&apos;m independent for very long but he expect me to behave like a village home girl who agrees with him. I have fought for myself and always will. I have earned my independence and a love that I deserved.

  I am 35 and my mother told me same last year. When I was 27, she made me vow to not make boyfriend. Because that would cause disgrace. Now she wants me to get married to mens like that are divorced, that are as old as 40, and strangely now she asked me to get married on my own. And out of caste. And seriously it&apos;s too late. I am not getting any good man now.

  Yes you are right sir!!<br>My mother always discouraged me from talking to boys at younger age even if they were my rakhi brothers. Talking to guys was a taboo!<br>In my 20s , when I was deeply involved in my medical studies, she refused a lot of alliances that came for me..I don&apos;t even know about a lot of them. But she searched endlessly for &nbsp;a bride for my jobless elder brother since his early 20s because she thought a DIL would come and do her &quot;sewa&quot;. <br>Now that she&apos;s bedridden &amp; can&apos;t use my money beyond a limit anyway...she wants me to get married in my 30s ! How convenient for such selfish parents! If I had been jobless too, she would&apos;ve gotten me married at earliest!<br><br>Boomer generation has already earned a bad reputation for being extremely selfish...reproducing for their own selfish needs &amp; treating their children as financial slaves, depriving them of their own dreams.

  Parents need to accept that they also commit mistakes. They will taunt their children as a kalyugi bachhe but they forget that they are also kalyugi they are not born in satyug. Parental Ego is the culprit. &nbsp;Their Ego is much bigger than than their status and aukat.

  It happening with my relative having age 34 ,he was in love with girl with another caste,6 years of relationship,still fighting for their marriage but girl&apos;s father totally against caste marriage,they have now married via court without telling their parents.both are working and <br>I am supporting them.

  Uncle you got the pulse of today&apos;s parents, I totally agree...they have become greedy, sorry to say.... For every match I get they tell the alliance that they should get half salary of mine, atleast 20 matches have taken a back step, iam nearly 40 now, supported siblings in education and marriage, but still my parents wants my money... This is the truth😢

  He is super right, if you have started earning, just get married and have kids at the earliest. <br>By 40 you will be super settled, contained and happy...and very importantly start looking at life from various other perspectives having time for self.
