  I talked to a girl from Saudi Arabia in college once and she really broke my perception of the country&apos;s people. She was SO talkative in class. And one day she basically chased me down to talk to me and then backed me into a wall with how excited she was (we were in a creative writing class and I brought up something she liked if I&apos;m remembering correctly).<br><br>It&apos;s a shame I didn&apos;t get to talk to her much. I was WAY too introverted and shy.

  I had Gabriel Iglesias do a show at my local performing arts center, which was literally directly across the street from my house once. He loved the community vibes so much he stayed well past the allotted time as it was the final booking for the day. I can honestly say that the guy carries himself very humbly and is genuinely the best comedian I have ever witnessed.

  As a Singaporean, it’s so entertaining whenever I hear people bringing up caning as a punishment XD It is very easy to not get caned, obviously. No drugs, no arms, no graffiti-on top of your usual other crimes- you are fine. Punishment for a certain amount of drugs smuggled in is death penalty.<br><br>No SELLING of gums, but chewing it is a-okay. Simply be a sensible human and don’t litter it. Back when it was legal to sell it, people stick it almost everywhere, which also disrupted the functioning of public transportation, which is why selling it is illegal now. If no one sells it, no one can buy it, no one can chew it (but we all buy it from overseas).

  On the Islamic culture thing, what a lot of modern Americans don&apos;t realize is that in the 70s countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia used to be a lot closer to the U.S. in culture than they are now. All you have to do is look at the old pictures. Clothes, cars, the way men and women interacted. It wasn&apos;t all that different. There were always <b>some</b> more extremist factions in the region, but there were large stretches where it wasn&apos;t the norm. It wasn&apos;t until the violent revolution through the last few decades where extremist factions took so much of the region over, and as shown by Gabriel&apos;s trip there&apos;s a lot of people who would rather it be that but are too scared to stand up to the psychos.
