It’s a problem for me to watch your videos, because I immediately buy all the books you recommend! I’d need three lifetimes to read them all, and still I get inspired by your excitement. Thank you for your channel!

So glad "Villette " was on your list. I loved this book so much that as soon as I finished it, I reread it. I thought it was a breathtaking, utterly hypnotic reading experience.

So excited. I struggled with the beginning of Villette recently for some reason and gave up... but now I'm excited to try again and hear everyone's thoughts. I'm so glad you are out there doing this. I'm studying lots of classics, and am so busy with life, but I always try to make time for your videos and books, because they bring back the wonder, beauty, and joy to reading. Grateful.

Mr. Tristan. My mother tongue is Spanish. I grew up in Boston after fleeing from Castro’s communist regime. I remember seeing the classics at the school library and not being able to read or understanding a word of English. More of half a century later I have read many of the classics; “The Count of Montecristo”, “Ivanhoe”, Mice and Men”, “Crime and Punishment”, “Man’s Search for Meaning”, The Prince, and many more.
The book that got me to read was “Man’s Unconquerable Mind”. I read it in 1988, I still have it and I refer to it often.
Since discovering your channel I have read for the first time again the following trio; Scaramouche, (1949) edition. The Scarlett Pimpernel, and now will be starting with The Three Musketeers.
On a side note, it is a pleasure to listen to you speak the ‘King’s English’.
Thank you for all your free education, instructions and lectures.
Thank you again.

This list of novels appears to be thoroughly, consistently "meaty," and engaging. Your videos are always inviting, worthwhile, and convincing. Thank you for the care, the interest, the enthusiasm, and the "articulation" you put into your descriptions.

I had never heard the term 'delightful' used to describe 'Tess' before.

The analysis of nostalgia at [05:40] really touched me. It’s true that we sometimes need books like 'The Lost Estate' to reconnect with the most innocent parts of our souls amidst this chaotic modern world. Such a wonderful recommendation for August! 🌿🏡
