I’m one of these girls, going back to the mid-90s, and it means so much to finally see someone speaking openly about this topic and holding others accountable.<br><br>So often, it’s the girls and women who carry the shame for years, while the perpetrators — their own family members — continue to be accepted, praised and protected as though nothing happened.<br><br>When you looked directly at the camera and said, “Kudos to you,” I actually found myself responding out loud, “Thank you.” It felt strangely personal, like those words were reaching back to the girl I was all those years ago.<br><br>Thank you for giving a voice to something so many of us have carried quietly for far too long.
