  I used to read Stereo Review to get info on Stereo equipment that I couldn't afford and would never buy.  I used to read Road and Track to get info on cars that I couldn't afford and would never buy.  I used to read Playboy magazine for the articles.

  I was a huge car audio guy back in my 20’s. Flash forward to my 50’s now. Kids are gone, mortgage is paid and with more time on my hands I’ve slowly been upgrading my home system. Nothing over the top, everything fits my budget. I stumbled on your channel and you have helped direct me in a few areas. I appreciate that. Like you say, in the end it is all about the experience that works for you. Could I spend 10 times what I’ve already invested? Sure. Would it bring me 10x the enjoyment? Doubtful. What I settled on satisfies this old man. Keep up the good work.

  I worked as the audio bench tech / field service in the early 80&apos;s. I learned 3 things; <br>1. The speakers and the room are 95% of the experience you get from music. A cheap Soundesign 5761 all in one tuner with the record changer &amp; 8-track can sound superb with a good set of speakers in a good room. I repaired lots of them for granny’s that wanted to play their Christmas LP&apos;s. I sold a lot of better speakers to those ladies. It was night and day. A quick demo was all it took. <br> <br>2. 80% of people buy speakers based on appearance. <br> <br>3. Never argue with a Dr. Goldenear PhD. (Piled higher &amp; Deeper) you get nowhere, and lose a customer.

  If an audiophile is full of crap, remind them to stop listening and use the restroom. That&apos;ll help remove whatever is stuck in their hindquarters making them feel uncomfortable and grumpy.

  They are called Audiophools. I heard it the first time, many years ago from Dave over at EEVBlog.<br>There is also a good article over at &quot;Mojo Audio&quot; called &quot;The 24-Bit Delusion&quot; that takes on the math of why the CD format uses 44.1kHz at 16-bits.<br>Most of us older folks (I&apos;m 51) were &quot;victims&quot; to &quot;The Loudness Wars&quot; during the 90&apos;s when everything was compressed to death.

  Like the old saying goes, one man&apos;s garbage is another man&apos;s treasure, distorted sounds in one man&apos;s ears, is crisp perfect sound in another&apos;s ears. Make you system sound the way you like, not what others think! Jam on music junkies

  My brain interpreted the sounds my computer speakers made to say &quot;... a giraffe driving a SAAB.&quot; but your editor interpreted it as &quot;sub&quot;... proof!
