That's why she is know as "The Queen of Covers". ANY style, ANY Era and they OWN it.
When they started a few years ago during covid, Gigi and the Band were really poor and struggling to even put food on the table. Their main income as wedding singers dried up and Gigi's mum needed cancer treatment, so they worked with the guy over the road from Gigi house who had some recording equipment in his garage (Tritone Studios) and started these live streams. The whole band lived together in one house to save money and comply with Covid regulations and that's why they are so tight as a group.

she, or they were wedding singers from early age and in the Philippines, you will never be a wedding singer if you know just a few hundred songs because peeople will burry you with random request old, new, ballad, 70s slow rock, disco, kpop, lady gaga, michael jackson, jazz, you'd sing bohemian rhapsody then your next request is james ingram then katy perry's roar to leonard cohen's hallelujah to the eagle's love will keep us alive then suddenly someone wants to dance to donna summer's hot stuff that's when everybody wants a medley of disco songs you'd still have to finish off with the father and bride dance, disney song, a whole new world or something similar.

5:46 For me, most Filipinos know a lot of songs from 80's and 90's because of the culture. Music is part of our daily life that we start the day with it. I remember my father turning on the player while we prepare to go to school early in the morning. He loves The Beatles and Air Supply. So yeah, they pass on the songs of their generation.

Also, classics from Mariah, Whitney, and other artists back then are frequently use in singing contests up until today.
