  as a baker, I thought the rising chocolate prices last year was due to higher demands but turned out it also bcs of a lot of failing quality choco harvest.<br>I wish our farmers got more support from the government.. instead of national police and soldiers ordered to handle the farm by the president 🙄

  Idk about rice being less nutritious, but i still remember how my late grandma used to brew tea for our family in the 90s. It was very aromatic and flavorful, and we&apos;d happily drink it without sugar because it felt refreshing and calming. Nowadays a tea without sugar just tastes like bitter, acidic water

  I am an Indonesian, I used to be an outdoorsman (stopped due to knee injury) trained by professionals to read the signs of nature. The past 2-3 years, I can no longer accurately predict the weather watching cloud movements, wind &amp; temperature, and animal behaviour (fewer animals sighted). The patterns have changed, the rules have changed.

  My wife is from the island of Sumatra, where the people used to grow coffee, pepper, and cocoa. But since the government&apos;s geothermal power plant project, the temperature in the village has become warmer and coffee and chocolate production has decreased, while pepper has stopped producing fruit.

  I live in Garut, and Garut has become warmer and warmer. It used to be so cold, perfect for growing tea, coffee, or chocolate. Now the mountains are bald, because of sand mining, some hills are gone. Yes, civilization needs sands for buildings, and Indonesia&apos;s civillians are growing too, unlike other countries which are threatens by extinction. And so the need of rice is also growing. The growing of population is okay, if only it&apos;s followed by the quality.

  When Indonesia becomes too warm to plant coffee, Southern Chinese provinces will be around the right temperature. This might instead predict an explosion in supply of Arabica coming out of China.
