  Fun fact: eating a brain raw or cooked makes no difference for getting a prion disease if it was contaminated because prions are nearly indestructible.  Research lab equipment that comes into contact with prions is regulated to be incinerated after use for this reason.

  So as a spaniard and specifically Catalan, I feel like it&apos;s my duty to explain the Calçots. They&apos;re not burnt nor you eat them like that. They&apos;re put on a grill and cooked, once done, the burnt part is peeled and what you get is a very tender vegetable that with the romescu sauce is basically the best shit that you can get here.<br>Or at least top 3.

  Las empanadas las hacemos delgadiñas porque:<br>A - son un entrante, mejor que sea ligero.<br>B - Son más crujientes, lo cual adoro.<br>C - Somos una región en la que hubo muchísima pobreza... Comíamos lo que podíamos...<br><br>Pero nada, delgaditas mejor, bien crujientes y para bajarlas: churrasco!

  I was blown away when I went to Spain because literally everything I ate there was among the best things I&apos;ve ever eaten, simply because of the quality of the produce. I normally don&apos;t like raw tomatoes or peppers but Spanish tomato bread and stuffed peppers are incredible. If I lived in Spain I&apos;d either be extremely healthy just from eating so many tomatoes and peppers or unhealthy from all the croquetas de jamon.<br><br>Also had a similar experience in Portugal last year. Iberian Peninsula is just built different.
