    1. sorry the audio is so quiet! i&apos;ll have to take a look at my settings because it sounded fine in my headphones<br>2. also apologies for the audio glitch around <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbRcHf--0sA&amp;t=241">4:01</a>, it must have happened during rendering so i didn&apos;t catch it :(<br>3. i&apos;ve never seen the college humor google sketch, the similarity in title/phrase are just a coincidence!

My mom’s rapidly declining health forced her into retirement after being a librarian for about a decade, and before that being a teacher for 20 years. She lived for research and finding answers and collecting knowledge. She adored being a ChaCha guide. She didn’t care about the pennies it made, it was the interactions that she couldn’t have before that she loved so much.

I was a ChaCha guide. We were classified as independent contractors, so we could work as much or as little time as we wanted, whenever we wanted to. Fun fact: One time I worked for 24 hours straight, so that I could pay for an item on eBay that I had already won. The item cost 30-some-dollars. Desperate times called for desperate measures.

I was a ChaCha guide! I used to be so good at making cute sign offs. I never really made much money but I had a lot of fun doing it.

I never used ChaCha for anything serious, but back in middle school I loved just asking how the person&apos;s day was and asking their opinion on something random. It was just really novel at the time to instantly have a conversation with a random person about anything of your choosing.

I used to be a ChaCha Guide! I was a broke college kid and I&apos;d work literally all day to earn enough to cash out so I could eat dinner. Ahh... fun times...

FYI, if you want help like this nowadays: libraries. Your local library has a reference desk and wants to help YOU learn things!

Search engines used to require a slightly special knowledge to use efficiently (using &quot;&quot;, +, -, etc), we were taught how to use them correctly for research when I was in elementary school in the 90s. So chacha basically paired up someone less technologically literate with someone more so who could use the correct syntax to find the most relevant/ accurate info.

Unironically I think this would be such a good revival idea in the age of ai.

I&apos; tried being a guide in 2008. I&apos;m a pretty efficient searcher and ended up being a librarian as an adult. The money wasn&apos;t worth it even for a teenager, but the service was useful when we all had texting but not smartphones yet. Especially if you were lost or something
