Incredible breakdown of how the fight evolved across generations! From the coastal resistance to the forest fighters, the resilience of these communities in the face of immense colonial oppression is truly inspiring. Thanks for sharing this history!

It is worth noting that in the 1950s and 1960s, the Mau Mau uprising made headlines in the Western press! In Germany, the term "Mau-Mau" even became synonymous with gangs of delinquent young rockers modeled after those in the United States! In France, for instance, the illustrated press reported on the arrest of Jomo Kenyatta—the future Kenyan president—with the following commentary: "Jomo Kenyatta, the well-known Mau Mau leader known as 'Iron Spear'—a former schoolteacher—was sentenced to prison!" It just goes to show that education doesn't always pay off"!
