Sandor had one of the best arcs in the show. I would have liked to have seen him find some peace in the end but he went out doing what he set out to do. Destroy his evil brother and seeing Sansa and Arya are safe. He is probably in his own brutal way one of the most honourable men in the show.

bro, i love that you started with that scene, bc that really does sum up why he is the best knight in the truest sense. he values the principles of knighthood so much that he disregarded the title the moment he found out those wearing it do not follow the rules. knowing this, he instead put himself into a position to best perform actions of knightly design without oversight. this position also gave him the ability to correctly judge the environment he is in.

He died fighting his brother and that had nothing to do with anybody but them

IMO, The Hound was definitely the best character in Game of Thrones!
