MIXED MEDIA ART for BEGINNERS | WHEN AND HOW TO SEAL YOUR WORK | A MOD PODGE Product Comparison 😘

I have an OBSESSION with mod podge. It’s one of my absolute fav mixed media art supplies, and I buy it by the gallon! (expand for more info and product links!) Even though I use it all the time on canvas, on paper, and over acrylic paint; lots of students still ask me if there are artist grade equivalents to mod podge that can be used to seal the acrylic paintings in their mixed media art journal pages and canvases. I thought I’d answer with an art supply demonstration of seven ADDITIONAL sealants and mediums so you can decide for yourself which looks like the best fit for you! To demo the differences, I created 8 mini canvases using my tried and true mixed media process, the “Hamburger System.” After my acrylic layer, I added a few scribbles with my stabilo all pencil, then tested one of the following on each canvas: Mod Podge, Kamar Varnish, Liquitex Matte Medium, Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish, Soft Gel Medium by Golden (gloss), Gloss Medium by Golden, Isolation Coat by Golden, and Weldbond Universal Adhesive. Press play to watch the tutorial and check out how each sealant ranks in adhesive properties, sheen, and how it activated my other favorite art supply of all time, the black stabilo all pencil. Which do you think will win my SEAL of approval?! I know…couldn’t help myself! Meet me here next Friday at 10am ET for my conclusion to the "Mixed Media Hamburger System" series. #mixedmediaart #mixedmediatutorial #artjournal ✏️ If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment in the comment section below (on mobile?
