IMPORTANT: Universal 2.0 has been invented for versions 2.8+, and is far more stable and 100% AE2 based. Please find guides for that in my discord or the main gt discord.

If you still want to do this method and are playing on version 2.8+, covers were updated to default 1 tick. If you are having problems with multiple circuits in the bus, make sure to set them back to 5 ticks. Also, item importers were changed and are now buggy. Please use machine hulls with conveyors set to “machine status” and use a machine controller cover to control the redstone on a 5 tick cycle.

It is also really important to note 2 more things as mentioned by @drnye9692:
1: at 7:20 I connect the fluid decoder to the subnetwork via cabling!! Its not enough to just put the storage bus on it otherwise it wont be able to receive power or place fluids in the input hatch.
2:Additionally, if you try this setup on precise assemblers or other machines, make sure storage busses are not being powered by red alloy cable, this causes them to not be able to deposit items into relevant buses! (I think this is a bug)

If youre still having trouble, make sure that you only connect your drives once the filters have been set! otherwise you will have problems. You can just leave the channel colors on default until everything is ready

Also, 2.7 added a 1 step nitric acid recipe with circuit 21, so add that too! I am making a doc with all the useful circuits for each universal machine: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zDgYaYrRifQY3G93ETWbvSYSjqtA4ls8Vx4e1pVShyA/edit?gid=0#gid=0

"Introduction to Universal Processing" sounds like a name for a class in STEM field. Which is almost as hard as playing GTNH.

I love ae2. I’ve only ever thought of automating moving cells as a novelty, but this looks awesome.

Your animation at 13:27 made everything make complete sense to me and honestly this is game changing. I just hit EV in my run and I'm going to start experimenting with setups like this!!

If anyone is having problem with this setup it 2.8 beta the gt covers was updated to allow them to update on 1 tick instead of 5 ticks as in 2.7.4 this changed all existing covers to update on 1 tick breaking this setup to resolve this simply click the hourglass on all 3 covers until it says 5 ticks and it should work again in 2.8 beta

UEV GTNH player here, been holding off on doing universal automation since it seemed really complicated but this is a super nice explanation ❤

When I saw the graphic, it all clicked. You're using the subnet cells to keep the circuit in the subnet, as it doesn't get consumed, while letting mainnet have the output to the recipe. It's essentially like RFTools crafters set to ExtC (extract consumables only). Brillant.

Of course this design can be adapted to fit other machines as well. However if you move around the redstone attached to it, you gotta make sure that the Storage busses do not accidentally have redstone applied to them as that will cause them to shut down and not send out items/fluids
Also something that should be noted is that the "giving AE power" part kinda glosses over the fact that the packet decoder needs to be connected by more than a storage bus to the subnet.

I thought I was done, then came the part with the cell distributor

You're the second person who did universal automation in GTNH and I love your way more compared to Samosa! Great work and thanks for the videos
