  Norm was the furthest thing away from a racist as one could get, but he also didn't give a f*ck. Which is one reason people love Norm.

  David Letterman chose Norm to be the last comic to ever appear on the Late Show.  Norm was already ill, but went out there and killed it on stage.  Then Norm delivered a heartfelt message to David and there's not a dry eye in the house.  Definitely worth the watch.  (Edited to use the great man's preferred name)

  The "Darkie" joke was because the cop "Fuhrman", had apparently called O.J. Simpson the N-word. So reducing the charge to just calling him "Darkie" is like when they reduce a murder charge to manslaughter. So many of these jokes require historical reference to understand. Especially the "Weekend Update" jokes since it was a weekly parody of the news that week.

  Comedians loved Norm bc he was legit fearless and wouldn&apos;t sell out for anything. If he thought the joke was funny and the content needed exploring, or exposing he did it. And everyone knew it was limiting his shots and everyone knew he didn&apos;t care.<br>The respect was real. Chappelle respected that dude

  Norm used to love finding out where the line you can&apos;t cross is, and crosses it on purpose, just to see people&apos;s reactions. &nbsp;HE WAS THE BEST AT THAT. &nbsp;Riding the line between unacceptable and funny was his homebase.

  Huckleberry Finn is an American masterpiece. Mark Twain was an abolitionist, and he was able to show how Huck&apos;s love for Jim was enough to make him think he was damned to hell. But Huck didn&apos;t care because he thought he was doing what was right.

  The Tiger Woods bit is definitely a joke. He&apos;s just pointing out that Tiger was whippin so much ass back then that the other golfers would do anything to get rid of him lol and also pointing out that Tiger was virtually the only famous black golfer in the world for quite a long time.
