  Rod, I think part of survival is: prep. Prep for bugs— always. You got to invest in a 10x10 piece of mosquito netting or linen. Wrap yourself at night. Keep it by your side on <i>ALL</i> these adventures, survival, and excursion. It’s okay to “cheat” — we get the gist of episode. Your discomfort is not necessary to pass on the point. Stay vigilant!

  Walking around barefoot is insane to me. No telling whats under the sand, one cut and its &nbsp;up.

  sup Rod! for fire, try something i saw on the show Survivor once: a player placed a single droplet of water on a lense of his prescription glasses and basically created a magnifying glass. in direct sun, it was enough to spark an ember and boom, fire!

  As a Tejano that lives right along the Mexican border and that has eaten &quot;nopalitos&quot; (prickly pear cactus) all his life i can appreciate the footage. The easiest way to take the spines off is just to &quot;shave&quot; them with your knife, cutting a thin layer of the flesh just right underneath the thorn follicle.
