  The skin is a yellowish brown or an orangey tan. A brown onion makes me think of a rotten onion. This is the most unserious argument, and I love it, lmao.

  In all languages, color words and distinctions didn’t happen all at the same time. &nbsp;Red is an early color name in most cultures, hence “red” onion, “red” cabbage. &nbsp;The word and concept of “purple” came along much later in English.<br><br>From what I can tell, brown was recognized as a specific color earlier than yellow. &nbsp;So Pulpy is probably right lol. &nbsp;They were probably called brown onions first.

  Ok I’m going to cause <br>another &nbsp;rediculouse debate ..<br>🇬🇧The British do NOT. eat cheese and onion sandwiches , we like cheese and pickle sandwiches &nbsp;and / or cheese and onion crisps … NEVER in my whole British life have I ever seen anyone eat a cheese and raw onion ( brown white ore fckin yellow ) sandwich … FACT 🇬🇧<br>We like pickle &nbsp;with cheese that ain’t no Sandwich.
