  Descent was the first full 3D textured-map title iirc. But Quake was truly special. So good it was the technological basis for many games.

  I love the Lovecraftian world of Quake 1, it&apos;s part of why I love this game so much, it would be awesome if we got a game that picked up from 1 and made a new Quake that develops the Lovecraftian world they started creating with 1.
