  How dare that girl say people who are 200 pounds shouldn’t be allowed in a Pilates class. Making fun of an overweight person at the gym is like making fun of a homeless person at a job fair. They’re trying. They’re showing up. That should be honoured, not ridiculed.

  Twenty-five years ago, when I was a teenager with an eating disorder bemoaning the way my thighs touched, my older sister looked at me and said, &quot;They&apos;re supposed to touch. They&apos;re side by side.&quot; I have never forgotten that moment. Bless her.

  I’m 43. I was hospitalized and nearly died from an ED when I was 14. Recovered by 16 with no relapses. I’m proud to have been a healthy weight for the past almost 30 years. I was a college athlete, marathoner, then mama. None of that would have been possible without recovery.
