People having a pop at Chards for not naming the dealer, well think on this, Chards only have the word of the customer that they bought them from xyz company, they could be mistaken or even trying to make mischief. Naming the alleged dealer without specific proof, i.e. Chards themselves directly ordered from said dealer and had them verified independently would leave them open for legal action.
The coins shown weren't exactly difficult to spot even for an average Joe, although it would have been good to know the weight and dimensions to see if they checked out as most people can at least do that at home without fancy testing machines. At least people can now be aware to check coins they purchase even from main dealers.

I suppose one could say that the two coins, because they carried the Arabic mark, were actually marked as fake from the beginning; and should have been a warning to anyone being offered them. But it certainly does not excuse them being sent out as genuine by a top dealer. And the wrong King for the year is just laughable. One wonders how or why the buyer accepted them at all. Thank you for your insights, and for keeping all of us on our toes.

When I was working in Saudi Arabia 1979-1980 21kt Sovereigns & Half Sovereigns were everywhere. Used for trading because no one wanted the local currency back then. They also had their own 22kt 8 gram not 7.98g coin all dated 1950

UKBullion.....Dealers.....?.....I trust Chards completely, and that's why I buy with confidence. Many dealers are misleading customers by offering sovereigns that have lost their full value and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) exemption status, effectively reducing them to scrap gold. This practice takes advantage of unsuspecting buyers, and it’s something this dealer should be held accountable for.
