  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vH9rmSC-dS8&amp;t=345">5:45</a> that&apos;s right, side steps is usually for aesthetics reason only like the one found in Mercedes GLC, GLE, GLS and some Chinese full size SUV with retractable side step. While on the Jetour T2, T1 that is unibody and most body on frame SUV we really need the side step to climb inside.

  Been seeing alot of Chinese cars over the years, both on road and during roadshows, some in the showroom. My personal take is this; Chinese cars give what the majority of the public what they want; big screens, plush interior, luxury features, decent audio system which is my favourite of all, and all of this at much lower price compared to the legacy brands. However, they all seem to have one thing in common; at least from many reviews and my personal observation when I see one in person. Reviews noted many Chinese cars lack driving engagement, ride quality refinement especially for Malaysian road condition, and from my own observation, seating comfort a bit lacking both for the front and back, in terms of under thigh support and back support. For me, seat comfort is of higher concern rather than legroom because for long distance trip, you are seated for prolonged duration, having properly designed seats especially at the back is crucial. Also some of them have somewhat of an awkward egress and ingress situation, like this Jetour T2. And personally I think the size of the car is too big for city use, even the T1 is just as big. There are alot of unseen compromise with alot of Chinese cars that I am able to see which I am sure many do not. Having big touchsreens is also not my personal preference, they glare and will make you dizzy at night. Imagine having a laptop on the dashboard all the time. And not to mention sunroof on almost all Chinese cars here. They give you what you want, but not what you need, and legacy brands know this long ago. Pity.
