  If I remember my NWA history correctly, Barry Darsow was a defector from the USA To the USSR and adopted the name Krusher Khrushchev to fit in with the team. This would explain why he never even faked an accent.

  Apparently, the same show that featured the &quot;Hard Times&quot; promo was also the episode of World Championship Wrestling that closed with Flair, Ole, Tully, and Arn doing the heel closing promo and Arn commenting offhandedly that &quot;not since the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse&quot; had anyone seen a more intimidating group than they had there that day. &nbsp;So a <b>mildly</b> historic show, that one...

  Before watching this show, I never knew that Earl Hebner worked with JCP/NWA as a ref before joining the WWF and debuting in the evil twin angle with Hogan, Andre and Dibiase.

  The two Nature Boys was actually part of an angle planned to build up to a match between Buddy and Flair! Landel was allegedly going to win the NWA World Heavyweight title from Flair before the problems you mentioned cropped up.

  The reason Barry Darsow didn&apos;t speak with a Russian accent as Krusher Kruschev was because he was a Russian sympathiser who turned against America. He debuted the gimmick in Mid-South where he was originally known as Crusher Darsow.
