Reading 'Tender is the night' did something to me. It felt more like living a life than reading a book. Good stuff.

Thank you so much for putting in the work and sharing this for free. I love that you used Rachmaninoff for the soundtrack. It‘s perfect.

What did he say? 'I wouldn't care if she died but I couldn't stand anyone else to be with her' Yeah, massive red flag right there.

This was wonderful, Professor. Thank you for taking the time to elaborate on the Fitzgeralds. I appreciate this longer format. Sometimes, when 25 minutes comes, I'm left wanting more. I know you've done two-parters and those are very welcomed.

I've loved Fitzgerald's writing since junior high. I continue to admire a congress of personally flawed authors and not-so perfect artists.

Maybe I lack a sense of social mores. Maybe when it comes to literature, art, and cinema it's the creation not the creator that matters. Maybe I recognize their "imperfections" in myself and many stone throwers.

Thank you for this wonderful expanded film, your original reignited my love of Fitzgerald! A biography I read of him this year was Matthew Bruccoli's "A Sort Of Epic Grandeur". Bruccoli is one of the top Fitzgerald experts, he even dedicated his book to Scottie Fitzgerald. I do think Bruccoli's work is kind of dated in 2025 and he gives Zelda short shrift. However, after reading that book what struck me about both Scott and Zelda is how immature and adolescent both of them were for most of their lives. Both seemed to have serious executive function deficits and honestly I think they each knew this intuitively and realized that no other partner in the world would tolerate either of them.
