  The fact that the nobles were surprised at Mary's ability to mobilize quickly and with authority is puzzling.  She was the granddaughter of Isabella and the daughter of Catherine after all, both of whom were wise and savvy warrior queens.  That combined with her stubborn and shrewd Tudor side made her a formidable opponent when her back was to the wall.

  Another reason Mary probably came out on top is that her mother had been a very popular Queen.

  It’s so interesting how Mary became the first Queen Regnant of England while her own Grandmother Isabella of Castile was the first Queen Regnant of Spain.

  It's unfair what they did to lady Jane because she didn't had choice and she had to marry and be a queen all forced on her such young age, no one helped protected her. It's very sad.

  Mary was not the first child of Henry and Katherine. She was the first and only one to survive more that a few days.

  The modern Church of England only exists because Anne Boleyn played hard to get with Henry VIII. That is where it's roots lay. That is the reason why it was created. It is not because Henry VIII cared about Protestantism. All he cared about was bedding Anne. Why doesn't anyone in England ever seriously talk about this?
