Bird was so great. Two days before a game the excitement was crazy. You just didn't know what you were going to see but you knew it would be epic. Best all around player I've ever seen.

Bird is still my all-time favorite basketball player to watch. He could do it all, every game, or at least 99% of the time. I sure miss watching him and the other great players of the 1980s.

Before taking over the NBA, Bird had to take over the Boston Celtics… despite his resume, Maxwell and other veterans weren’t exactly rushing to give him the reins… so he took them!
