  This is actually useful because I also have an anniversary cake that stares at me menacingly, but after reading the pattern i thought i wouldn&apos;t have enough to make a decent blanket. Looks like someone is getting a star blanket for christmas haha

  As soon as you cut the plastic off the bottom I was yelling NOOOOOO. &nbsp;I have used so many of these cakes and that plastic band is a lifesaver for yarn control

  There are a few different versions that Betty Mcknit has of these blankets and I have made 3 different versions. They were all very similar and were easy to complete. I mainly used different types and thicknesses of yarn. It helped me use up random skeins of yarn and made it look very scrappy, which I liked. If you want to finish the blanket in 6 days, you are supposed to use a chunkier yarn, but you can ultimately use whatever yarn you want. That&apos;s crazy that you finished it in 3 days.
