  Sis, what you need to know when chopping onions is that it’s not actually because the onion substance directly touches your eyes and makes you cry, but because you inhale the onion’s aroma.<br>So what you should do is cover your mouth and nose (your respiratory area) with a mask or anything similar, so the onion compounds are not inhaled too strongly and you won’t start tearing up.<br>However, if you have already inhaled the onion smell and your eyes start to sting, try immediately finding coffee powder or another strongly scented food and smell it.
