Chip did actually do something at the very end!<br>While it doesn't double the per-peg Cactus damage, on the last shot it doubled the vestigial damage of Cactus' orb throw so many times it dealt 99000 damage

I <i>think</i> the softlocks are because Dodgy Shortcut doesn't just send the orbs flying straight down when you hit a crit, it also makes the orbs <i>super</i> dense at the same time. Idea being that they'll <i>keep</i> going down, and not bounce much off pegs on the way.<br><br>But that's interacting with the VVVVVV trinket by making them so dense that the extra bonus kick from the ceiling isn't enough to send the orbs all the way to the bottom.

probably something your not interested in but maybe trying to beat cruciball 20 with all relics so you can say you "100%'d peglin" is an idea, since the game does keep track of highest cruciball win with each relic but im not sure if playing non custom crucible 20 over and over again would make great content though
