  As a young man I took to trimarans. &nbsp;The Family built a 32.5 foot Art Piver &quot;Herald&quot; trimaran in a year while living in Sitka, Alaska. &nbsp;I read all three of Art Piver&apos;s books, and I was in love with his concepts about ocean sailing. &nbsp;Another book I read was the 1963 edition of &quot;The American Practical Navigator&quot; by Nathaniel Bowditch. &nbsp;Captain Bowditch has been lauded as America&apos;s first Mathematician. &nbsp;He did untold hours of tedious calculation in correcting the reduction tables of the British. &nbsp;Bowditch was for many years the final authority of all things Navigation. &nbsp;I still have my Dad&apos;s Bowditch. &nbsp;Piver foresaw the day when these sleek boats would do 1,000 nautical miles in 24 hours. &nbsp;That record may be set. &nbsp;It is the Holy Grail of trimaran sailing. &nbsp;We sailed out boat to The Bahamas from 64-65. &nbsp;I turned 17 at the end of the voyage.<br><br>Since then I have owned two Cross 38s, and I built another Piver &nbsp;while in the Army. &nbsp;Kathy and I sailed our Cross 38 from Bellingham, Washington to Nova Scotia. &nbsp;We spent 4 1/2 years enjoying the cruising life.

  It&apos;s by far the best looking trimaran currently on the seas. Thumbs up to Spindrift for not puting huge names on it with horrible colors.

  Cool video but I was hoping it would show the inside of the boat and how the crew lives during the trip.
