  Good stuff as always!! My students have a hard time with games like this.  Breaks my heart each time they try.  They always argue about puppy guarding and call eachother cheaters.  Despite my constant routines, consequences, discussions, positive reinforcement and (insert any teacher technique here) the end result is always the same.

  Great idea, much like “bag the beanbag” in terms of invasiveness… my EXTREMELY hard to please 8th graders were obsessed with bag the beanbag… can’t wait to try this too!

  It looks like CTF for sure, but the large bases make players a lot more willing to run across. &nbsp;The back and forth of players taking pins make it a lot more intense. &nbsp;You’ll see pins swap sides over and over before all 6 are captured. &nbsp;I love ctf outside more, but imo this is better for a regular size gym.<br><br><br> 2 rules that are important is a max of 3 guards surrounding the bases (leave 1 of the sides/exits open). &nbsp;If the final pin is brought over to the other side to win the game and someone is holding a pin to steal they must leave the base before the final pin is added to the base grid to end the game. &nbsp;<br><br>-Deric

  We love playing games like this! I have several variations of this game. I use rubber frogs instead of pins and have 4-6 of them on each side. I also do a football version of this game where once they make it into the other team&apos;s base (we call it a power station) they can run the football (power cell) out or pass it to another player who must then run it across the center line.

  I do a game similar to this called &quot; Capture the Treasure&quot; <br><br>Similar rules (no jail though as I&apos;m not a fan of it slowing down the game, plus their is always that kid that ends up living in jail ) I use various balls as the &quot;treasure&quot; 2 soccer balls, 2 footballs and 2 dodgeballs per box. Soccer balls have to be dribbeled on the ground (and they can be stolen as you try to dribble them back to your box aka treasure chest) Footballs have to be thrown over the middle line and caught by a teammate, dodgeballs are the universal do what you want with them, they can be kick thrown, dropped, picked up ect. Capture all 12 to win.

  I tried this game yesterday with a small group (6 on a side) and it was a lot of fun! I&apos;m going to try it again today with a slightly larger and older elementary group! I&apos;m hoping it&apos;s just as successful!

  Treasure island is another great game just like this. Jails are polyspots. I island in each quarter of gym with four different colored gold on each island . Need to be the first team to get 4 of your colored gold to your island. Same rules except divided in quarters. I use rings as gold.

  Policing the puppy guarding is close calls is the biggest frustration for sure. &nbsp;When I lose half my gym on bad weather days there isn&apos;t quite enough space either, but I still like it. &nbsp;Do you let defenders cut across the base to get someone streaking in from the other side? My kids also argue about cutting the corner so the defender goes through the base to get someone. &nbsp;Anyone every worry about that or is anything allowed on that one?
