  Fall of 2018 I started praying asking God to help me with my eating habits. I couldn&apos;t just have one chocolate, or one cookie, it was pretty bad. Over the course of a year he showed me that one of the biggest issues I had was self-control. Until then I had never thought that what/how I ate was a spiritual issue. I continued to pray and he led me to a diet that helped me gain self-control, I&apos;ve been doing it for a year and a half and it&apos;s been amazing the lessons he&apos;s still teaching me.

  You nailed it when you talked about the example of the guy who said he heard from God to marry a girl and be a missionary in Mexico and then two weeks later comes back and says God told him they aren’t supposed to be married. People project their own feelings on God and say that he is speaking to them, when really they are just unstable and wanting to justify themselves.

  I grew up fasting and I can honestly &nbsp;say that fasting is the only cure for gluttony for me in ournover indulgent culture. I simply stop eating and it is denying the flesh. No one chastised me when I remained a virgin until I was married not even the world. But when I say in order to curb my appetite I MUST fast a lot and often woth scripture reading and prayer. I get flack. It&apos;s &nbsp;really unbelievable.

  A note on fasting, since you brought it up. I think, from experience but I don’t have a verse, that regular fasting helps train us to resist temptation. <br>When we are hungry and say no to eating, the hunger does not immediately go away. We have to continue resisting it. <br><br>When tempted to sin and we resist, the temptation also does not necessarily end. It takes the same determination to continue to resist. <br><br>I recommend that people fast one lunch a week just to pray. It’s not terribly hard and it is also good practice for other temptations.<br><br>Just a thought.

  Thank you for blessing us with God&apos;s Word through your ministry on YouTube. <br><br>I gotta say, I used to watch all kinds of random junk on this platform, but now I&apos;m drawn to these vids daily. And also to actually learn the bible rather than just read it.

  The laziness question got me! I walk 7+ miles a day at work because of what I do and I&apos;m always moving so I&apos;m drained by the time I get home so I NEVER want to ever do anything except lay down and watch TV or take a nap 😂
