북한은 이 영화를 제작한 러시아나 제작지원한 에스토니아, 체코 등 다른 나라들에 대해서 한마디 항의 못 하고 영화 제작과 관련 없는 한국에 대해 해당 감독이 한국의 자금을 받아 북한을 욕보였다는 없는 얘기를 만들며 한국에게만 욕을 했다고 함.
