I spent my teen years in Eureka during the ‘70s. When you live there, you tend to forget how special the Redwood forest is!

I visited both Redwood and Sequoia way back when I toured the US and Canada on motorcycle. While standing in front of General Sherman i was speechless, I thought about how this tree is 2500-2800 years old! I will return to relive that special feeling.....

I have a small class c and they are road tripping machines. It's not the perfect thing to visit and stay because you can't go anywhere unless you tow a vehicle. But for road tripping, it's the perfect thing. Spot to spot to spot, you never have to go back because it's all with you. Need a bathroom, a snack, a nap, just pull over, it's all right there.

I watched a video on these trees, and the water they take in from their roots cannot make it to the top of the trees. It's the fog which rolls in from the ocean in this area from which the trees take the moisture for the upper half of their trunks. Without the fog, they'd only grow half as tall.

Redwoods are very brittle. Back when they would fell those trees, they had to build a soft dirt “road” to drop the tree on to keep them from splintering when they hit the ground.

It's been so long since I've been there, I can remember when they planted them. Ha. We went out there back in 1982 in a Hippi van. Love your videos. Thanks for what y'all do.

I call my 24 ft class C, my car, my rig, my purse or home depending on the circumstances. lol. Love having everything with me and genuinely feel weird when I don’t.

Founders grove is amazingly beautiful. Wonderful memories taking my mom there and seeing her expression on how big the trees are.

I hope your travels take you all the way north up Highway 101 along the Oregon Coast to the Columbia River. We did that trip in 2023. So much to see. It's a great area.
