Un INCROYABLE Voyage à la DÉCOUVERTE des GALAXIES VOISINES de la VOIE LACTÉE | DOCUMENTAIRE Espace

🌍 What do other galaxies in the universe look like? Are they so different from our own? Let's explore the galaxies closest to the Milky Way, especially those belonging to the Local Group. These galaxies are distant on our scale, yet so close to our own, such as the Andromeda Galaxy, the Triangulum Galaxy, and the Large Magellanic Cloud Galaxy. But there are so many other galactic objects that, despite their modest size, play a fundamental role in our understanding of the Universe. What is the composition of these galaxies? What is their history, and what will their future evolution be? 🔥 As a reminder, videos are published on SUNDAYS at 6:00 PM. ------------------------- 💥 A Journey to Discover Other Galaxies: • The Andromeda Galaxy, with its 1 trillion stars, is often considered the twin sister of our Milky Way. Measuring 220,000 light-years in diameter, Messier 31 is an immense celestial object, the most distant from Earth that can be observed with the naked eye under a clear sky, even though it is 2.5 million light-years away. The first observations of this luminous patch date back to the dawn of time, but the first written records of them date from 964; they are attributed to Al-Sufi, a Persian astronomer. The Andromeda Galaxy, located in the constellation of the same name, is easily recognizable by its oval and diffuse shape with its bright core. This core, yellow in color, contrasts with the dark dust lanes and the broad arms that trace their path all around it. Here is a spiral galaxy, the closest to our own, offering a breathtaking spectacle. Within its intricate network, we can glimpse clusters of blue stars, as well as reddish nebulae. The total mass of the Andromeda Galaxy, estimated at 1.23 trillion solar masses, compared to 1.9 trillion solar masses for the Milky Way, doesn't prevent it from containing a considerable number of more stars. At its core lies a supermassive black hole estimated at 140 million solar masses, far larger than the one in our own Galaxy, estimated at, relatively speaking, only 4 million solar masses. Let's begin by observing the Large Magellanic Cloud, a barred spiral dwarf galaxy. It is located in the constellations of Dorado and Table. Its disk-like shape is characterized by the presence of a single spiral arm and a large bar, which were discovered long after the galaxy itself, explaining why it was initially cataloged as an irregular galaxy. The Large Magellanic Cloud is 163,000 light-years from our solar system, but more importantly, it ranks fourth in the Local Group in terms of mass, after the Andromeda Galaxy, the Milky Way, and the Triangulum Galaxy. Several hundred thousand giant and supergiant stars are recorded there, as well as 60 globular clusters, 400 planetary nebulae, and 700 open clusters… ------------------------- 🎬 Today's program: 00:00 - Introduction 01:50 - The main members of the Local Group 02:15 - The M31, M32, and M110 Trio 06:30 - The spheroidal dwarf galaxies of the Andromeda subgroup 08:58 - The Magellanic Clouds 15:09 - The Triangulum Galaxy - M33 18:43 - NGC 185 and NGC 147 21:30 - Barnard's Galaxy - NGC 6822 22:53 - IC 1613 24:46 - Spheroidal Dwarf Galaxies of the Milky Way Subgroup 25:08 - Antlia 2 28:02 - Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy 30:06 - Draco Dwarf Galaxy - UGC 10822 32:20 - Ursa Minor Galaxy - UGC 9749 33:39 - Sculptor Dwarf Galaxy 35:07 - Sextant Dwarf Galaxy 37:25 - Carina Dwarf Galaxy - PCG 19441 38:28 - Fornax Dwarf Galaxy 40:14 - Leo I and Leo II Galaxies 41:50 - Ultra-faint spheroidal dwarf galaxies of the Milky Way Subgroup milky 42:13 - The Segue 1 galaxy 44:28 - The Segue 2 galaxy 45:58 - The Canis Dwarf Galaxy 47:55 - The dwarf galaxy of Ursa Major I = Ursa Major I 49:00 - The dwarf galaxy of Ursa Major II - Ursa Major II - Uma II 51:13 - The dwarf galaxy Reticulum II 53:22 - Isolated spheroidal dwarf galaxies 54:10 - The Whale Dwarf Galaxy 55:43 - The Toucan Dwarf Galaxy 57:04 - The KKR 25 galaxy 57:41 - The KKS 3 galaxy 58:42 - The Bedin I galaxy 01:01:45 - Irregular dwarf galaxies 01:02:03 - Galaxy IC 10 01:03:59 - Leo III Galaxy - Leo A 01:05:39 - Near Outskirts of the Local Group 01:06:05 - Galaxy NGC 55 - Caldwell 72 01:08:03 - Galaxy NGC 300 - Caldwell 70 Orbinea is an official channel affiliated with the network ©Production Orbinea
