  For the mentally unwell sister story: I am someone who was stuck in the savior role of my mentally ill mother. She refused to get help for her issues because I was playing her therapist. She told me multiple times I&apos;m the only thing keeping her alive, she took an attempt at her life at least once. The unfortunate fact is that, at this point, there is nothing we can do for our loved ones. We are not therapists. We can show them we&apos;re there for them, but we cannot risk our own mental well being for the sake of maybe saving them, because we won&apos;t be able to save them. They need professional help. And YOU, OP, need to prioritize your own well being first and foremost. I did so by moving out from my house, forcing my mom to get help in different ways while I got to cut myself off from the toxicity of living in that house. Savior complex is a bitch since you feel like a selfish asshole if you try to fight it, but that isn&apos;t the case - you cannot help anyone when you&apos;re at the bottom yourself.
