I have no respect for this concept in general. I made a protogen that breaks as many of the rules as possible.

Bruh did you know some closed species require you to pay them to "void" a design? Voiding essentially means you're leaving the group (for whatever reason. It could be personal or you found the space toxic etc) and taking your ocs with you. Some CS require you to pay them actual money just to delete a png from the masterlist.

The art community is entirely reliant on mutial respect, creativity, and the sharing and remixing of ideas. If you try to stop that, if you try to gatekeep ideas behind a paywall, ideas which aren't even that original, you're a poopyhead! Trying to force people to pay you for putting an extra set of ears or a pair of wings on their furry cyborg OC is pure lunacy.

i remember when i was a teen someone offered to buy me a closed species design, which was a winged cat with closed eyes that could like, walk in dreams? i dont fully remember. I told him i thought the species was stupid and to save his money as I just grabbed a random cat base online and made a winged cat. That cat, Fera, is still one of my most loved ocs lmao

And to think that there's a chance you might accidentally draw an OC that's relatively similar to a closed species that you didn't even know existed and could be accused of "theft" for it

2:18 as someone who owns an open the species of alien dragons. The reason for me is because I just want people to make these designs, I want to see people draw them, I want to see them come to life!

People who make "closed" species are dumber than a broken hammer, they really think they're Tolkien or Cameron or some shit.

Wow, you put a computer screen on the head of a wolf or something, you're such a genius to charge people to use such innovative creature design.

honestly, i have no real problem with closed species, but when people start policing people for just having characters that look similar to their species or whatever is totally not cool. ive seen people witch hunted, sometimes endorsed by closed species creators to do so and its vile. let people have fun. like nobody owns the idea for a shrimp that is fluffy or dogs that are part water as part of their design.
