I remember being blown away by the graphics when this was newly released in 1993 and it still holds up. The sprites, animations and backgrounds just pop.

I grew up with this game. The animation looked like a real cartoon to me. And the Genesis's tinny sound chip was used to great effect.

I remember a couple times in my childhood that I managed to soft-lock the game during the Jafar fight. If you get up close to him and fire apples at turbo speed, Jafar will sometimes flat-out disappear and his second form won't start. <br>...It might even happen after his second form. I don't remember which form does this because I haven't played Aladdin in 18 years. But I do remember soft-locking the Jafar fight because I threw apples at him too close and too quickly. <br>...Also, the Genesis version IMO is still the best. I mean, what is Aladdin if he doesn't swing a weapon? The sound of clanking swords if both you and the enemy swing simultaneously is a nice attention to detail that I think gets overlooked.

Oh thats right! I forgot that the apples would be cut in half if they hit the knives the giy throws. Neat touch they added.

I have played and completed this game hundreds of times, and I did not know about the hidden extra life in the first level. Awesome!
