  I think it would be cool to add special dialog to the friendly entity&apos;s if you&apos;re holding the CD like maby they could sense that something is up with it or maybe in some floors you could find a computer to put the CD in so ransom can spwan in other floors then we could get some fun new dialog from the architects showing how confused they are as to how ransom got out

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCUbCwVJPxc&amp;t=640">10:40</a> Portrait copying your player character is very ironic since portrait is just doing its job but it ends up being scary and unsettling out of context. <br><br>In game development, the way mirrors often work in games is by having a copy of the player stand behind the mirror that does exactly what the player is doing, just like a mirror would do. This tricks players into thinking it&apos;s a mirror, when it&apos;s actually just a window to a flipped version of the real world and our appearance. <br><br>What&apos;s cool is that the DOORS devs decided to turn what is normally a souless mannequin, only meant to simply copy our movements behind the window, into an entity that not only copies the player movements to create the mirror effect, but can also break out of the mirror and do it&apos;s own thing, as if it has some motive. &nbsp;That&apos;s why you reflection disappears when portrait escapes: it&apos;s not just a scary and cool effect, the reflection genuinely is gone and can&apos;t exist anymore because portrait is no longer there to make it happen. Even though it&apos;s normal to portrait to copy the looks and movements of someone else, it&apos;s very uncomfortable to us because it&apos;s not bound to a mirror anymore, yet in spite of that fact, portrait continues to do what it was made to do and copies our very being.<br><br>My favorite about this whole thing is that the devs didn&apos;t create a new or unique entity. Portrait is something that exists in almost EVERY game with a mirror. Whenever a game has a mirror, just know that it&apos;s likely not you staring at yourself, but rather it&apos;s an entirely different person, with no mind of it&apos;s own, staring directly into your soul. <br><br><br><br><br><br><br>&quot;But what if it did have a mind and it&apos;s own body... and it craved freedom&quot; And portrait was born.
