  The U.S. military is merely Wall Street's private armed force; it does not serve the people. Even if the U.S. military plunders overseas oil, it will not give a single penny to the American people.

  Since 2003, the US has spent around $4 trillion on wars (Brown University estimates the total closer to $8 trillion), while investing only $1 trillion in infrastructure. In contrast, China has spent roughly $4 trillion on infrastructure and $1 trillion on its military, and it has not been in a war for nearly 50 years.This basically explains why China has amazing infrastructure, while the U.S. don’t. When individuals simply share their observations  and highlight these stark differences, they are met with backlash and labeled as propagandists. Telling the truth can be difficult, but for some, accepting it seem even harder.

  The distance between Chengdu & Chongqing is similar to NYC & BOS (~300-400km roughly). The fastest train between Chengdu & Chongqing takes 1 hour with ~20 USD

  As Canada really starts to pull away from the U.S (and its bizarre-o anti public transport mentality among 50 other things) I sure hope we start to see some Chinese/European style rail infrastructure built to connect our populated areas. It feels so insanely backwards here, like we have been locked in amber for 100 years or something. Theres nothing quite like the quiet hum of a smooth running fast train. An extremely dignified form of transport that celebrates the beauty of the landscape and geography of a place.

  China is safer for women even at midnight more than any European or American cities. That says it all about the nation and its people.
