I started watching House recently. The caption at the beginning of each episode reads "New age music" which always made me laugh. However, for episode 18, the caption reads "Massive Attack's Teardrop" so I immediately had to look it up. Brilliant track.

edit: it's amazing how many people are watching House MD in 2025, y'all are awesome.

Vocals are performed by Elizabeth Fraser, former lead singer of Cocteau Twins, who also wrote the lyrics. It was released on 27 April 1998 as the second single from the group's third studio album, Mezzanine

For those who don't know, this song is composed by the lead singer of Cocteau Twins Elizabeth Fraser, at the time she wrote the lyrics for this song, she was dating Jeff Buckley that unfortunately happened to die of drowning in that same period, i guess no more explanation is needed, this song represents grief in all forms, the melody, the lyrics and the overall energy of the song.
