Bakura was ahead of his time in the card meta. Using the graveyard as an extra resource and using flood gates rather than just straight beat sticks

Yami Bakura would absolutely have used Mystic Mine if it existed back then

I know he didn't have many wins but I still love his dueling he's always using different unorthodox tactics.

Really loved Yami Bakura in the anime. I just love the fact he was this reoccurring threat throughout the entire original series even being revealed as the true main antagonist at the end of it. Plus he was such a savage both in duels and how he insults others lol

When I was a kid I read the manga and I think he referred to his strategy as something like "occult card game", and for the longest time I thought that's what the OCG stood for

Manga bakura is one of the best villains I've read in a shonen series. He's ok in the anime but man he's incredible in the manga, especially the final arc.

Always loved how Bakura always had this sort evil, demented spirit theme to all his decks. Wicked Ghosts, Demented Dolls, a freaking WeeGee Board. Dude had a theme and stuck to it.

Necrofear is still one of the coolest boss monsters for a yugioh antagonist. Always wished he used her again so that it could maybe have a showdown with Dark/Silent Magician.

Bakura was just chilling the entire time, and the final season he decided to become a larger threat that being seen.

You know, what this tells me is that Yami Bakura would be a solid duelist if he was given modern cards and time to study the game.

Bakura might have never usually won his duels, but what I liked about him was that he never needed to. His plans didn’t hinge on winning card games, he knew he was no match for the likes of Yugi and Kaiba so he had to be clever & stay one step ahead of the other characters.
