Question of the Day! - Do you prefer Jason Todd as a violent anti-hero trying to do better, or as a full-on anti-villain who crosses the line on purpose?

I find it funny how people claim that Nightwing is the happy go lucky Robin and that Jason is the angry one when in reality it was the other way around but even then putting either of them in any of those categories really limits how people view their character/flaws.

It's kinda sad that Jason's most significant story is the one he gets killed in. He had so much potential in general, but when your initial purpose was just to be an empty stand-in for Dick Grayson, the cards are already not particularly stacked in your favor.

Now, I'll admit, I haven't read ALL of Jason's comics but the comics I HAVE read always have him retreading the same character arc: Jason starts killing, Batman finds him, they fight, go their separate ways and eventually reconcile and have a good moment together all for it to happen later AGAIN in another run

My pitch for a Jason Todd series would be one in which he's a Rorschach/Punisher style serious, hardboiled vigilante but he keeps finding himself in weird comic booky situations

If you want Jason to be done justice give up on the mainline stuff, they had 20 years and gave us one decent run. There's a fan series called Red Hood Resurrection and it's really good. The quality ramps up after the first 3 episodes, but the writing respects all the characters involved like night wing and deathstroke. The acting is really decent too, especially night wing. It's on YouTube to watch for free.

Tbh I find Jason’s struggle with the desire for vengeance and moving on to be a good character flaw. I mean I disagree with you on Jason not being a good character and I put that mostly on the writers. Though I understand why people feel the way they do. They keep putting him in square one

I personally say that he should be a mix of both an anti hero and an anti villain.

Can we just give this guy the outlaws back. I think Jason needs to leave gotham and needs some friends
