  I&apos;d like to point out that people are afraid of who they don&apos;t understand. When I was a child in day care, there was a little blonde haired boy from Texas who was very talkative. He terrified me, and I thought he was an alien until I realize that some people just have blonde hair and pale skin. Some people have never met others from different races and their first instinct is fear. With time, people can get used to to others.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWUvlUXkuWo&amp;t=589">9:49</a> I think the chef said hui min 回民 when you told him you don’t eat pork. Hui are a mostly Muslim ethnic group in China and are strict halal. He was probably asking, “Oh, are you Hui?” or simply, “Oh, are you halal?”

  As a white guy (I&apos;m actually very mixed race) when I visited extreme rural China I was also treated similarly. Curiosity. Most people were kind. The occasional odd statement or what might be racist, but to them it isn&apos;t necessarily racist but limited exposure or awareness. They assumed I was some celebrity, politician, or some type of person. They never or rarely saw foreigners. Many wanted pictures with me. It was a bit odd, but I played along. No biggie. They were friendly and I was experiencing a completely different place and people. I grew up and traveled the world throughout my life.. many third world.. so extreme differences I find amazing and interesting.
