  The uncomfortable part is realizing how many things we call “normal” simply because everybody around us is doing them. Get the job, upgrade the car, increase your income, increase your expenses, repeat. I came across the same idea while reading The Rules Behind The Curtain by Elias Morgan and at first I thought the author was reaching a little lol. Then you start looking around and noticing how automatic some of these decisions actually are.

One owns something, has flexibility and can step away. The other has to keep showing up every morning or the whole thing stops. The Rules Behind The Curtain by Elias Morgan touches on this and this video explains the same basic problem without all the dramatic “get rich” nonsense.   Maybe I’m just getting older but the obsession with constantly maximizing everything is starting to seem exhausting. More income, more followers, bigger house, better car, another business... where exactly does it end? That’s one reason The Rules Behind The Curtain by Elias Morgan caught my attention. Some of the ideas are definitely debatable, but the question of what you’re actually optimizing your life FOR stayed in my head.
