  They're on their 9th album at this point and they've had plenty of different sounds. All they can do now  is keep changing and evolving. I'd imagine the majority of fans who've been around the past twenty odd years feel the same way. If you want a band to bring the same stuff out all the time, you can always listen to Green Day.

  They&apos;ve had a &quot;different&quot; sound for the past 20 years. Era Vulgaris sounds like nothing before it, a totally new band, and they&apos;ve been on that track since.

  Not sure if anyone will see this, but the thought that comes to mind is people come to a band at a certain point in their lives. The songs become a soundtrack to whatever is going on. Those might be really great times that people want to hold onto. The changing sound of the band is a reminder that time is going by and life is complicated. It&apos;s not really that they want more of the same music. It&apos;s that they are grieving the lost past.

  I am 55 and enjoy hearing what is coming next, and i also have changed my tastes over time even though I love to go back and listen to all the old albums, I enjoy the more mellow songs now.

  They can do whatever they want. They&apos;ve made plenty of bangers. No bad albums. They&apos;ve changed music. They&apos;ve influenced tons of musicians. There&apos;s plenty of people that spend their time trying to decipher their sound. &nbsp;They&apos;re widely respected and loved. Their live shows are some of the best out there. If people miss the edge, those albums are there and they play a lot of those tunes live. Let them be artists.

  While I am also not a fan of their newer sound, power to them doing what they want to do, not everyone is going to dig it but stay true tot he music you want to make and whatever else is gravy.

  Artists have absolute freedom to evolve, big respect to Josh for doing his own thing. That being said, aside from I Sat By The Ocean I haven&apos;t really clicked with anything he&apos;s put out after Lullabies, and I liked pretty much every song he put out before Era Vulgaris. Personal preference.

  I miss the harsher sound they had when Nick was in the band. Some of their best songs were written by Nick as well. But they’ve remained just as good as they were back in the day, just different.
