Good attempt. It was mentioned hundreds of times that time is an infinite layered reality. Meaning that if you have power, you can time travel to any point of time when needed. That's how Fran was able to contact her younger self. The best way to understand it is to remember that time is an infinite layered reality that exists in all realms including the Ultra Reality and the beyond. I get why you're confused about that whole meeting between the two Frans, but it's likely she was brought there for years from the day she was born and she simply forgot her old times at the Asylum (note that in one of the cutscenes, Fran begged her Aunt not to leave her there as her parents did). Some people tend to forget what happened during their childhood the older they get and it's possible that Fran's mental illness has made it extremely difficult for her to remember things like Itward and Palontras.

Also, remember that Leon is a special case because he's the only adult capable of traveling between the realities or he would have never met younger Fran. Rather than question why Fran couldn't remember these things, think more about her mental condition and what it may lead to. I also suspect that the aunt got her Sister and Husband killed by drugging Fran so she would murder them. Remour represented the madness that made Fran commit the murder and is why Fran considers him a scapegoat to what happened that night.

The fifth reality is actually called Apollo, it says so in Leon’s Journal

Honestly, something I've seen is that there are a lot of people who have played Fran Bow who haven't played Little Misfortune and vice versa and I think it's just a shame, because you really don't get the full picture unless you've seen/played both of them, because even when you do, you aren't getting the full story, but you're getting a lot more than you would by just playing one or the other-
And a lot of people just have no idea of the connection, because if you've played Fran Bow, but not Little Misfortune, you probably don't know that it's a semi-sequel to Fran's story-
And if you play Little Misfortune without playing Fran Bow, you likely won't be able to connect the dots at the end which go back to Fran Bow, not to mention the fact that there's almost a five year gap between each of them being released-

Personally though, I think Killmonday are doing a great job in creating this little universe of semi-horror games with a unique and interesting lore behind them, and I'm really hoping and praying that they'll be adding onto it some time in the future...which is odd to say, because as someone who has experienced them, these are not exactly pleasant games. XD They both really mess with your mind and knock you senseless with the constantly changing tone and bizarre imagery and complex mysteries. Even now, there really is a big "what if" that was never resolved in Fran Bow, which is, did she actually get possessed to kill her parents? Or was Remor simply trying to make her suffer even more in order to feed on her? Also, now that I think of it, nothing ever really happened to him in the end, we saw Oswald and the aunt get knocked off the edge of the world, but nothing ever happened to Remor, he may very well still be following Fran, waiting for his chance to put a stop to her happily ever after, we really still know so little about the world and it's characters, even after learning so much over the course of two whole games-

I love how Fran Bow is one of those few games where they realize that you can’t have light without darkness, vice versa.

I haven’t played this game in a while (and I’m sorry for the late comment) but I definitely feel like the Version of Fran that she sees is a younger version of herself. This is bc the younger Fran says that she knew Palontras and Itward, and when you see Itward for yourself during the game you act surprised as though it is ur first time meeting him. But doesn’t he say something along the lines of the fact that he was her childhood imaginary friend? So she did know him, she just forgot. It’s just simply the fact that she forgot her past, which is why she doesn’t know who killed her parents until the end, because she forgot.

I think that Fran has a paranormal superpower that allows her to see bits of the afterlife in the game because in little misfortune we get the whole picture that she actually does have a superpower. Also Mr Midnight did die but came back as her spirit animal so he could protect her. That is also why the cat in the coffin was fake because cat's pointed ears are flabs of skin.

With the seeing her younger self part i honestly do not think its the same ver of fran, i think theyre 2 separate frans from 2 separate timelines who have lived different lives (no matter how small the differences might be), it would make sense why the younger alternate Fran's response to original fran asking about midnight is roughly like "oh i guess thats the difference between us" 🤔 thats my thoughts on the situation 😉

I mean, little Fran literally IS the keeper of the key when she gets the box with all the keys out of her wardrobe. Also maybe she forgot about everything when her parents died/she killed them. Trauma often causes memory loss.

So here's my timeline: Sometime before Fran was born, her mother and aunt Grace were experimented on by Oswald. We do not know the experiments or the point of them, but I believe they had to do with exploring the other realities. Fran's mother knew something was wrong and, upon having Fran, ran away and hid Fran so Oswald couldn't hurt her. But aunt Grace was groomed/manipulated by Oswald and, whether herself, through Remour, or through Fran, killed Fran's parents. Aunt Grace and Oswald took Fran to the Asylum to experiment on her the same way Oswald experimented on Fran's mother and aunt. Oswald probably thought that, since Fran's mother was experimented on, then any further experiments might compound with previous experiments and affect Fran or make her "special" in some way. I believe that the "other" Fran is from an alternate timeline where Fran's mother either failed to escape or never tried in the first place, and so Fran was experimented on as a much younger child. It could also be that Young Fran is meant to be the TRUE keeper of the keys, as she has a literal box of keys and knows much more about the realities and Itward and Polantrus from a younger age. Other notes: the specific reason Oswald might have wanted to experiment on twin children is how they represent ALL FIVE REALITIES: 1. Being pure and happy, like the first reality. 2. Being young and still growing, like the second reality. 3. Being from the physical reality of Pandora and having their own human willpower. 4. Being twins, like how the 3rd and 4th realities are connected by and both represent Death (which in Leon's journal is represented by a picture of dual grim reapers, i.e. twins, or two sides of the same coin), and finally 5. The brokenness of pure suffering that is endured by a "broken" child, or one who has gone through a lot of trauma. Perhaps Oswald thought that, specifically, twin children who had undergone intense trauma might be the ones who could see these alternate realities, perhaps even interact with them? Who knows. Excellent video though, and I'm so glad you agree that the magical aspects of that world do exist and Fran isn't just bonkers.
