Its crazy to think “6 foot tall and 250 pounds” was a “giant” back then.

If I was in the Civil War, I'd be an effload more afraid of all of the wild boars who ate the dead, and in many cases wounded men would be eaten alive while bleeding out in the grass.
They would be passed out from either trauma and/or blood loss, but once a giant pig begins chewing through your meat and bones like it's ice cream they'd scream in pain. There's a lot of old journal entries that recorded this happening a LOT.

How bad is your commander when he loses four men at the same picket before posting more than one man?

if Sasquatch exists, probably his great granddad didn't appreciate all that shooting and artillery battles

My great great great grandfather fought for the Union in the Missouri State Militia Volunteer Cavalry. Near the end of his tour of duty, they kept having a run-in with a mysterious light. Every time they would chase after it, it would disappear. Reminds me of accounts of the Joplin Spooklight.

I love how one of Anderson's sentries disappears in the middle of the night. So he continues to post just one sentry a night. Which continue to disappear every night, for like 5 consecutive nights lmao

I can honestly say that this channel is one of the few that I am genuinely stoked for each upload.

I remember growing up in Appalachia and my Grandmother always telling me to stay out of the woods once the sun went down. Otherwise, the "Wild Men" would get me and make me live with them. And how they slaughtered troops during the Civil War on both sides.

But, it backfired severely when I realized that if I lived with them I never had to worry about school, wearing Sunday Best every weekend, and all that other stuff kids hated. She was slightly irate when my first solo camping trip was at age 10. She gave up by the time I was 12 and just wished me luck when I went out camping.

That final story was so heart warming due to the obvious empathy the "monsters" showed to the seriously wounded soldier. In a world where men often shoot strange things before asking questions, it shows that even unknown entities can feel pity and kindness towards humans and if in doubt deserve to be treated likewise.

Abe's account is beautiful. I think "Bigfoot", broadly speaking, is its own unique species, and like us many are helpful and good-natured, while a few are territorial and violent. Clearly, neither want to be bothered, but some will take a chance and help us humans when the need arises. Thanks for another fantastic episode, Luke! ❤😊
