I know Joe doesnt have the counting stats to be a HOFer, but he has the accolades.

- #1 Overall Pick
- 6 time All Star
- MVP
- 3 batting titles (Most ever by a catcher & only AL catcher ever to do so.)
- 3 time GG winner
- 5 Time Silver Slugger
- Highest batting average by a Catcher in MLB history.
- Second most hits in Twins history
- 9th All time in WAR by catcher. Everyone in front of him is A HOFer.
- 2nd Highest OBP ever by a catcher
- 5th highest slugging % ever for a catcher.
- 2nd Highest OBP Ever by a catcher.
- Longest On Base streak ever by a Twin.
This sounds like a HOFer in my book.

I grew up watching Mauer, Kubel, Cuddyer and Morneau; they were my favorite Twins players to watch and I'm sad to see the last of four retire from baseball...

Mauer and Ichiro. They don’t blow you away with their strength, but they made the game beautiful with their singles. Joe Mauer single up the middle is classic. Happy to see that Jorge Polanco is lookin Like the next one

Joe Mauer had one of the best batting eyes in the history of baseball. Between Joe and Rod Carew, it's hard to believe either one of them ever struck out. Thanks for the memories Joe!

One of the prettiest swings in all of baseball history. Could hit it to any part of the field and with some power. Mauer is a HOFer.

Mauer has got to be my favorite baseball player of all time. I spent my entire childhood watching him play and I have tons of respect for him. Would love to meet him someday.

Anyone else think he was safe at 1:48? The throw was perfect but damn near the worst tag I’ve ever seen.
