  I loved the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts.<br><br>Yes Bob Hope was a comedian. He was also an actor in numerous movies. He was also <b>huge</b> with the USO. He did so many appearances and pulled so many celebrities to make appearances at the USO performances for the troops. What he did was amazing.<br><br>Don Rickles&apos;s comedy, while full of insults, was not based on profanity or curse words. His unique style and ability to deliver humorous barbs made him a beloved comedian, earning him the moniker &quot;Mr. Warmth.&quot; Don Rickles was a master of the roast, and he was aware of the fine line between a good insult and a vulgar attack. His ability to stay on the right side of this line contributed to his long career and wide appeal.

  Sammy Davis Jr. converted to Judaism after a terrible traffic accident. &nbsp;His wife was white and his mother was Puerto Rican. &nbsp;Back in the 50s and 60s, he faced a LOT of racism because of it.

  Bob Hope was my grandparents, parents and my generations comedian. He was a vaudeville, stage, radio, movie, music, and TV legend. He&apos;s the pure definition of icon. Oh and thank you for more Rickles. Frank Sinatra was a big part of getting Sammy into clubs

  The wide array of celebrities that were roasted back in the day would blow your mind. Muhammad Ali , Lucille Ball, are just two that come to mind.

  Bob Hope was my grandparents generation! He started the USO tours entertaining the troops from WW2-The first Gulf War. Stage radio film and screen. Comedian actor all around entertainer. The Road Pictures he did with good friend Bing Crosby were the first buddy pictures. I remember all his tv specials one of the best parts of childhood. In 1938 he starred in Thanks for the Memory the theme became his signature which he would close every performance.
