  I was one of the Patreon backers for this and the original concept was that it was supposed to be a liminal space game with procedural generation in settings and events with infinite replay-ability. Seeing how it’s completely deviated from that makes me feel cheated and just disappointed.

  They try to have a funny Stanley parable moment having the narrator mad at the character for not listening but you don't have any real control over where you go so it's not charming it's annoying

  I think that trial and error chase scenes ruin a horror game. It literally trains you not to be scared because you know you will just get to try again and you know what happens when you fail.

  Aren't liminal spaces supposed to be exploring around empty spaces and not having to do puzzles every 15 seconds?

  The reason this game fumbled so hard is because everyone expected a LIMINAL game instead of a chase sequence simulator. They had two years and they simply didnt capitalize on what everyone wanted them to

  This game legitimately would’ve been so much better off as just an exploration game that doesn’t try to be a horror/puzzle game. The graphics are exceptional, but the Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 gameplay loop just completely ruins the immersion that the entire game is advertised around

  Having playtesters is super important for game developers because it lets them see where things get confusing or frustrating for average players. This feels like a case where the devs decided to playtest everything themselves.

  I feel kinda bad because the devs are clearly talented, the game looks insanely good. You can tell they just really liked the liminal space aesthetic but didn't really grab the concept of it and why its so unsettling. You can even tell by the teasers because even then they only showcased the graphics with no hint of actual gameplay, almost like they made the assets first and then remembered that a videogame needs gameplay (I'm 99% sure thats what happened). I do hope they continue to work and make stuff, they just need better direction.
